Located along the southern west coast of the island, Ajaccio is mostly famous as the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte and remains Corsica’s main urban city. You will  enjoy either the cooking of locals restaurants, having cocktails at beach bars or shopping at the local farmer market or along the narrow streets.

Casa Santa Teresa is nested on the shore , facing the wide bay of Ajaccio. The Sanguinaires islands sit just off shore and  Capo di Feno beach is only 20 minutes  from the house and is one of the nicest beaches around.  On the opposite side of the bay, various beaches and snorkeling spots around Porticcio, Isolella  and Coti Chiavari. 

If you drive north, you will appreciate Cargèse, Porto and les calanques de Piana, which has breathtaking scenery. Also recommended are road trips to the famous torrents of Corte (80km), Porto Vecchio, with its white, sandy beaches (130km), and the white cliffs of Bonifacio (120km).

Or simply lie in the warm sun watching the ripples on the sea, perfecting the art of farniente.
